Malmesbury & District Natural History Society gets involved in a lot of projects and surveys that depend on expensive equipment to be successful. At the same time, we really want anyone to be able to join the Society so we want to keep membership fees down; at the moment it is just £10 per household per year.
This is why we came up with the idea of a donations page. There are certain items we would like to buy and donations from people who like what we are doing will help enormously with that. Any size of donation is welcome and it all adds up!
Here are the three donation categories we are fund raising for at present:
- General fund – donations to this will help us to buy things like the river testing equipment which is an ongoing cost or some magnifying glasses for use at the Owl pellet dissection event or the BioBlitz both happening next year.
- Static Bat Detector – this detector can be erected outdoors and left for a while, whatever the weather, gathering data on the bats in the area. It will enable us to carry out a lot more bat surveys across the region… Take a closer LOOK!
- Thermal Monocular – life forms emit heat and this monocular will show us what is around us at night whether that’s birds, bats or other mammals… Take a closer LOOK!
